N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube

N08800 is a nickel-iron-based alloy material, also known as Incoloy 800 alloy. It is composed of elements such as iron, nickel and chromium, has excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature performance, and is widely used in chemical industry, energy, aerospace and other fields. N08800 has high oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, and can maintain good stability under high temperature and extreme corrosion environments. In the chemical industry, N08800 is usually used to manufacture high temperature and high pressure reactors, heat exchangers and pipelines and other equipment.
Products Description

The N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube is a steel tube composed primarily of nickel, enriched with elements such as chromium, molybdenum, iron, and occasionally copper or titanium. Designed for demanding environments, these tubes provide reliable performance under high temperature, high pressure and corrosive conditions.

Features

High Temperature Strength
With a composition of 30–35% nickel and 19–23% chromium in an iron matrix, our N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube offer outstanding structural stability. They maintain high yield strength and creep resistance even in environments exceeding 600°C. Enhanced by solid solution strengthening and stabilization with titanium and aluminum, the material resists grain coarsening and structural embrittlement during long-term exposure, making it ideal for continuous high-temperature applications such as heat treatment systems, cracking furnaces, and heat exchangers.

Superior Oxidation Resistance
Designed to perform in highly oxidizing, reducing, or carbon-rich atmospheres, our alloy forms a dense chromium oxide layer on the surface. This protective film limits oxygen and carbon diffusion, effectively preventing surface oxidation and carburization-related embrittlement. In oxidizing environments up to 1100°C, its oxidation rate remains significantly lower than that of standard stainless steel, with oxide layer growth controlled between 0.1–0.3 μm/h-extending equipment run time and minimizing maintenance needs.

Excellent Fabrication Characteristics
Our alloy steel tubes offer strong cold-forming capability and welding flexibility. They are compatible with conventional welding techniques such as GTAW and SMAW. The heat-affected zone remains stable, with minimal risk of cracking or grain growth, ensuring reliable performance in fabrication and assembly.

FAQ

Q: What is N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube made of?

A: N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube is primarily composed of nickel, with key additions of chromium (19–23%), iron, and small amounts of other elements such as manganese and copper. This combination gives the alloy its excellent resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and high-temperature environments.

Q: What are the primary applications of N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube?

A: N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tubes are widely used in industries where high temperature, oxidation, and corrosion resistance are critical. Typical applications include heat exchangers, chemical processing equipment, furnace components, and other high-temperature, high-pressure environments.

Q: How does N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube perform in high-temperature environments?

A: N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube exhibits excellent structural stability at temperatures up to 1100°C. It maintains high yield strength and creep resistance, making it ideal for use in continuous high-temperature applications such as heat treatment equipment and cracking furnaces. The material is also resistant to grain coarsening and embrittlement due to its solid solution strengthening treatment.

Q: What makes N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube resistant to oxidation?

A: The oxidation resistance of N08800 is attributed to the formation of a dense chromium oxide layer on its surface. This protective layer effectively prevents oxygen and carbon atoms from diffusing into the metal, minimizing oxidation and carburization, even at high temperatures up to 1100°C.

Q: Can N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube be welded, and what welding processes are recommended?

A: Yes, N08800 Nickel Alloy Steel Tube can be welded using conventional methods such as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). It has good welding adaptability, and the heat-affected zone remains stable, with minimal risk of cracking or grain growth during the welding process.
