LASW Line Pipe

LSAW steel pipe (Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welding, abbreviated as LSAW) is a professional term for straight seam submerged arc welded steel pipes. It is produced by pressing (rolling) a steel plate into a tube blank in a mold or forming machine, using a single medium-thick plate as raw material, and adopting double-sided submerged arc welding with expanded diameter.
Products Description

LASW Line Pipe, namely Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welding, is a straight seam welded pipe manufactured by submerged arc welding process. Its characteristics are that the inside and outside of the pipe body are welded, and the weld is developed along the longitudinal direction of the steel pipe.

Features

High Strength
LASW Line Pipe adopts longitudinal submerged arc welding process and has excellent mechanical properties. Its tensile strength is usually above 450 MPa, while its yield strength can reach above 350 MPa. This makes LASW straight seam pipe perform well in environments with high pressure and high strength requirements. For example, the common specification is Φ219mm×6mm, and its tensile strength and yield strength meet the requirements of API 5L standard, which is suitable for high-demand environments such as oil and natural gas pipelines.

Excellent welding performance
LASW Line Pipe has excellent welding performance, and the heat affected zone and weld during welding show good uniformity. This is due to the submerged arc welding technology it adopts, which has fast welding speed and high weld quality. Specifically, the welding current is generally set in the range of 600-800A and the voltage is between 25-35V, which ensures the strength and stability of the welded joint and reduces welding defects.

Strong corrosion resistance
LASW Line Pipe has strong corrosion resistance, especially after anti-corrosion treatment, it can effectively resist chemical corrosion and physical erosion in the environment. Common anti-corrosion treatments include epoxy coal tar coating and external heat shrink tubing. Taking a Φ273mm×8mm pipe as an example, the thickness of its anti-corrosion coating usually reaches 2-3mm, which can significantly increase the service life of the pipe.

Size range and tolerance
LASW Line Pipe are produced in a wide range of sizes, with outer diameters ranging from Φ219mm to Φ1420mm and wall thicknesses ranging from 5mm to 30mm. Its tolerance control is strict, with an outer diameter tolerance within ±1mm and a wall thickness tolerance within ±0.5mm. This precise size control ensures the adaptability and sealing of the pipe in actual applications.
