Products Description
ASTM A213 specification covers seamless ferritic and austenitic steel boiler, superheater, and heat-exchanger tubes, designated Grades T5, TP304, etc. Different from ASTM A335, the tubing sizes and thicknesses usually furnished to this specification are 1 ⁄ 8 in. [3.2 mm] in inside diameter to 5 in. [127 mm] in outside diameter and 0.015 to 0.500 in. [0.4 to 12.7 mm], inclusive, in minimum wall thickness or, if specified in the order, average wall thickness. Tubing having other diameters may be furnished, provided such tubes comply with all other requirements of this specification.
Features
Stable High-Temperature Strength
Selecting various alloy steel grades, including T5, T9, and T11, according to the ASTM A213 standard, and through sulfur and phosphorus-controlled refining and normalizing and tempering heat treatment, the pipes maintain a tensile strength of at least 415 MPa at temperatures above 550°C, making them suitable for high-temperature main steam piping in boilers.
Oxidation Resistance
The surface can be coated with anti-rust paint, varnish, or oil. Combined with the self-passivating properties of chromium-molybdenum alloys, this slows the formation of oxide layers.
Uniform Heating
Wall thicknesses range from 0.4–12.7 mm. Multi-roll cold drawing and in-line thickness measurement are used to maintain a wall thickness tolerance of ≤±0.3 mm, improving heat transfer efficiency and preventing stress concentration and tube bursts caused by localized overheating.
Multiple Material Compatibility
Offering a variety of material options from T5 to T92, covering various Cr-Mo ratio requirements, steel grades can be selected based on operating temperature and steam parameters to meet the customized requirements for thermal fatigue resistance and long-term strength in power plant boilers, waste heat boilers, and other systems.
